He watches over you

John 21:4 (NKJV)

But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.

The disciples had gone fishing, a rather worldly occupation. They had fished all night and not caught anything. They were tired frustrated but they did not know that Jesus was standing there, watching them. He was interested even in their mundane efforts, having the kind of everyday difficulties we are all so familiar with. Jesus helped them by giving them a bountiful catch and then invited them to come and have breakfast with Him.

Nothing of what we usually think of as being spiritual here in this story, just Jesus love and interest in our physical needs, then his invitation to fellowship with him at breakfast before he sends them out into the world. How like Jesus to make the difficulties we have in this world an opportunity to have a closer fellowship with Him. Have you had your breakfast with Jesus today?
