Acts 6:8-10 (NIV)

Now Stephen, a man full of God's grace and power, did great wonders and miraculous signs among the people. Opposition arose, however, ... These men began to argue with Stephen, but they could not stand up against his wisdom or the Spirit by whom he spoke.

Acts 6:15 (NIV)

All who were sitting in the Sanhedrin looked intently at Stephen, and they saw that his face was like the face of an angel.

Stephen was a godly man. You could see it on his face. Have you ever noticed that about anyone you know? Some people just seem to exude the presence of God in their lives. I hope that people can see that in me. Notice that even when things got rough, it says opposition arose against Stephen, that he was unflappable. This verse tells the secret too, he spoke by the Spirit, his source of power. It must have been like arguing with God! A pointless exercise.
