Matthew 9:5-8 (NKJV)

For which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven you,' or to say, 'Arise and walk'? But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins" --then He said to the paralytic, "Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house." And he arose and departed to his house.

Now when the multitudes saw it, they marveled and glorified God, who had given such power to men.

At first you see the response of these people who witnessed a miracle Jesus had performed and you think that they had the right response. After all, they glorified God. But look closer: "God, who had given such power to men." They did not realize that Jesus himself was God.

People always say: "Just show me a miracle and I will believe." Miracles might make us believe in a God, but that's easy, it is what we think about Jesus that counts.

John 14:6 (NKJV)

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
